Everest Base Camp Trek with Island Peak Climbing is one of the most adventurous journeys for travel enthusiasts. Every year thousands of climbers visit this region to go on this trip to witness astounding views of snow-capped mountains and incredible scenery. You will climb Island Peak, which is just over Everest Base Camp. The trail includes few-snow climbing, but there will not be any problem reaching the summit. Island Peak is higher than Kilimanjaro, therefore, you will also take acclimatization before heading further. Along with this, you will also get to experience the traditions, culture, and lifestyle of the Sherpa people.
The trek will take you to the north side of Nepal where you will see numerous peaks above 8000 meters. The prominent views of Himalayan mountains like Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Twache (6,495 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m), and Mt. Kongde (6,187 m) will make the journey more beautiful. You will also get to see the beautiful Khumbu glaciers and glacial lakes. To go on the Everest Base Camp Trek with Island Peak Climbing, you have to be physically and mentally fit.
The trail begins with a scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. You will then trek to Phakding and reach Namche Bazaar. You will enter the Sagarmatha National Park where you will see rare species of flora and fauna. You will rest at Namche Bazaar, the main village in the Himalayas. This place is also one of the biggest residing areas of Sherpa’s. From here, the trail goes through the beautiful forest of pines and rhododendrons and takes you to Tengboche. You will visit the most important and ancient monastery in the region, Tengboche Monastery. You will then climb towards Everest Base Camp and ascend to the famous Kala Pathar from where you will have 360-degree panoramic views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m) and other surrounding peaks. Further, you will ascend to the top of Island Peak and return to Lukla.
