Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1350 M) and Transfer to Hotel
Arrive in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Upon arrival, our representative will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. You can relax and explore the vibrant streets of Thamel in the evening.
Day 02: Preparation for Trek and Kathmandu Valley Tour
Enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the afternoon, you will meet your trek guide and review the details of your upcoming adventure.
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (825 M)
Drive to Pokhara (approximately 6-7 hours), a beautiful lakeside town known for its natural beauty and stunning views of the Annapurna range. You can take a stroll around Phewa Lake in the evening.
Day 04: Fly to Jomsom (2720 M) Early Morning and Trek to Kagbeni (2810 M)
Fly early in the morning from Pokhara to Jomsom, a gateway to Upper Mustang. Upon arrival in Jomsom, begin your trek to Kagbeni (approximately 2-3 hours), a beautiful village located at 2810 meters, where you’ll experience Tibetan culture and architecture.
Day 05: Trek to Muktinath (3760 M)
Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath (approximately 5-6 hours). Muktinath, an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, offers stunning views of the Himalayas and is located at 3760 meters.
Day 06: Trek to Chele (3050 M) via Gyu La Pass (4077 M)
Today, trek from Muktinath to Chele (3050 meters) via the Gyu La Pass (4077 meters), which offers incredible panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. The trek is challenging but rewarding, with beautiful landscapes along the way.
Day 07: Trek to Syanboche (3800 M)
Trek from Chele to Syanboche (approximately 6-7 hours). Syanboche is a small village located at 3800 meters and offers stunning views of the mountains and Tibetan-style houses.
Day 08: Trek to Dhakmar (3520 M)
Continue your trek from Syanboche to Dhakmar (approximately 5-6 hours). Dhakmar is famous for its red cliffs and Tibetan Buddhist monasteries.
Day 09: Trek to Lo Manthang (3810 M) via Mui La (4170 M), Ghar Gompa (3934 M), and Chogo La (4280 M)
Today’s trek takes you to Lo Manthang, the capital of Upper Mustang. You will cross Mui La (4170 meters), visit Ghar Gompa (3934 meters), and then pass over Chogo La (4280 meters), before descending to Lo Manthang, which is located at 3810 meters.
Day 10: Explore Lo Manthang
Take a day to explore the ancient city of Lo Manthang, which is rich in history and culture. Visit the Palace of the King of Mustang, the monasteries, and caves around the city. You’ll also have a chance to interact with locals and learn about the traditional way of life in Upper Mustang.
Day 11: Trek to Yara (3650 M)
Trek from Lo Manthang to Yara (approximately 6-7 hours). The trail offers picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and traditional Tibetan villages along the way.
Day 12: Excursion to Luri Gompa and Back to Yara
Take a full-day excursion to Luri Gompa, a beautiful and remote Buddhist monastery built into the cliffs. After visiting the monastery, return to Yara for the night.
Day 13: Trek to Tange (3340 M)
Trek from Yara to Tange (approximately 6-7 hours). Tange is a small village where you can experience the local Tibetan culture and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Day 14: Trek to Chhusang (2980 M)
Continue your trek from Tange to Chhusang (approximately 5-6 hours). Chhusang is a scenic village known for its traditional stone houses and beautiful landscapes.
Day 15: Trek to Jomsom (2720 M)
Trek back from Chhusang to Jomsom (approximately 5-6 hours). You will follow the Kali Gandaki River and pass through charming villages along the way.
Day 16: Fly Back to Pokhara (825 M)
Take a flight back to Pokhara from Jomsom in the morning. Enjoy the scenic flight with views of the Himalayas. Once in Pokhara, relax and explore the town at your leisure.
Day 17: Drive to Kathmandu (1350 M)
Drive back to Kathmandu (approximately 6-7 hours) and enjoy the scenic drive along the Prithvi Highway. You’ll have the evening to relax in Kathmandu or explore any remaining sites.
Day 18: Final Departure
After breakfast, our representative will transfer you to the airport for your final departure, marking the end of your incredible Upper Mustang adventure.
- One porter for two people (maximum weight:12Â kg per client) and an assistant guide for group sizes above 4 people.
- 3 nights’ accommodation in a 3-star category hotel in Kathmandu and 2 nights in Pokhara on a BB basis.
- All the necessary permits including a special permit for the restricted area and paperwork.
- Three meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, hot drinks) during the trek.
- Lodge/Tea House accommodations with twin sharing basis during the trek.
- Rescue and evacuation arrangements in case of emergency.
