The Jomsom Muktinath Trek is an exciting journey that starts from Nayapul and then through the world’s deepest gorge of Kali Gandaki Region, taking you to the beautiful treeless barren land; a steep rocky trail up and down the hill. Throughout the journey, you can see the wonderful views of mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna south, I, Mt.Nilgiri, Mt. Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Mt. Annapurna IV, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Machhapuchhre, and Tukuche peak. The Jomsom Muktinath Trek is not just a trek that is famous for its jaw-dropping sceneries but for Muktinath temple as well. This temple situated at the height of 3750 m holds a very high value among the Hindu and Buddhist Pilgrimages. Thousands of devotees from all over the South Asian countries make their journey to this ‘Land of Salvation’ every year and take a bath under ice-cold water of 108 waterspouts, “Muktidhara”, considering that it brings them salvation. From Muktinath, you can have amazing scenery around as well as have a quality time in this fully pristine land. Hiking up to Muktinath offers you to experience a variety of changes in a dramatic way within a few hours’ walking distances. The diversity of flora and fauna, landscape, culture, and climate within a few hours of walking distance makes your journey very exciting throughout. Along with that, you can interact with the locals living on the trail for centuries and know more about them, their ancient traditions, interesting stories, and amazing faiths.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1350 M) and Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival, our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Rest and explore the vibrant streets of Thamel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour with a Tour Guide

Visit UNESCO Heritage Sites, including Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (825 M) [6-7 Hours]

A scenic drive along the Prithvi Highway with views of rivers, hills, and countryside. Upon arrival, explore Phewa Lake and enjoy the lakeside ambiance.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga (1540 M) [3-4 Hours]

A short drive to Nayapul, the trek’s starting point. A gentle hike through lush forests and charming villages leads to Tikhedhunga.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (2860 M) [6-7 Hours]

A challenging uphill trek via Ulleri, passing through rhododendron forests, reaching Ghorepani, a famous trekking stop with stunning mountain views.

Day 06: Trek to Tatopani (1190 M) [5-6 Hours]

Descend through lush forests and terraced fields to Tatopani, known for its natural hot springs, where you can relax and soothe your muscles.

Day 07: Drive to Marpha (2670 M) [3-4 Hours]

A scenic drive through the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the world’s deepest gorge, to Marpha, a charming village famous for apple orchards and local apple brandy.

Day 08: Trek to Kagbeni (2810 M) [5-6 Hours]

A gradual ascent through barren landscapes and ancient Tibetan-style villages leads to Kagbeni, the gateway to Upper Mustang. Explore the medieval village and monasteries.

Day 09: Trek to Muktinath (3760 M) [4-5 Hours]

A steady climb to Muktinath, a sacred Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage site. Visit the Muktinath Temple, known for its 108 water spouts and eternal flame.

Day 10: Explore Dzong/Jhong (3760 M) Village

Discover the ancient Dzong/Jhong village, known for its Tibetan culture, Buddhist monasteries, and stunning views of the Himalayas.

Day 11: Trek to Jomsom (2600 M) via Lubra Village [5-6 Hours]

Descend through dry landscapes and visit Lubra village, a hidden Bon (pre-Buddhist) settlement, before reaching Jomsom, the district headquarters of Mustang.

Day 12: Fly to Pokhara (825 M) [20-Minute Flight]

A scenic flight over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges takes you back to Pokhara. Enjoy a relaxing day by Phewa Lake or explore the city.

Day 13: Drive to Kathmandu (1350 M) [6-7 Hours]

Return to Kathmandu with an optional stop at Manakamana Temple (cable car ride). Spend your evening shopping or enjoying a farewell dinner.

Day 14: Final Departure

Our representative will drop you at the airport for your departure, marking the end of an unforgettable adventure.
